Teenage Years- A Nightmare?
TEENAGE
YEARS CONSIDERED THE WORST YEARS OF ONES LIFE
Infancy
and adults have their share of problems but teenage years are very challenging
and may seem like a nightmare. It’s not easy for teens with the constant
challenge of social media and living in an “always on” world.
Everything
is changing for teens both physically and emotionally. They face unrealistic expectations
of academic and co-curricular excellence, discovering heartbreak, anxiety and low
self-esteem. With peer pressure forcing teens to conform to standards and
hobbies or face a backlash, teenage life is a minefield.
Teenagers
aren’t awkward and confrontational by choice, even if they are treated that
way. Mood swings are a biological part
of growing up. Parents aren’t on the same wavelength as teens and often they
forget what it felt like to be one. Teenagers are told to act more mature but
you still tend to get treated like a kid. Thus being a teenager is the worst
time of one’s life.
